DEL JONES  JUL. 20/15

I am so sorry to share with you that dad (Del Jones) passed away on Saturday, July 18th at 2:15 in the afternoon. He was surrounded by his 3 kids: Leslie, Mark, and me. Dad was at peace, and the moment was beautiful and sacred. As his illness worsened, he had a lot of conversations with the Lord and was ready to go and see mom in heaven as well. I want to share with you some of his quotes in the last 2 days of his life: "It's easy to talk to God right now."  "There are some wonderful things about dying." As you can see, he was truly at peace. Dad loved life so much and wanted to come back to Arizona this next fall, but his body just wasn't going to allow him to do that. But I want to thank all of you at Pueblo El Mirage for being such a great part of my mom and dad's life these past 20 years.  They both cherished your friendship and all of the fun times they had with you. Wishing all of you good health and peace in the next year. You can look at the obituary in the Billings Gazette beginning tomorrow morning. Blessings, Jeannine Brant

DEL JONES JUL. 14/15

Thanks so much for the outpouring of prayers and support for Del. I read each and every message to him, and it meant the world to him. I wish I had better news. The heart failure has worsened. He was able to get fluid off in the hospital and then went to a transitional care bed. He did well for a week and even rallied a bit. He is so strong and walked across the entire facility 4 times, trying to be the Montana cowboy that he always is. He said if his truck was outside he would have escaped that day. Then things worsened. He deteriorated during the weekend and yesterday we found out that his kidneys are also failing. They discontinued medications that didn't make a difference in his comfort, and we have transitioned to comfort care. For you nurses out there, his creatinine is 4.4. He is still awake at times, enjoying chicken nuggets with sweet and sour sauce but just trying to stay comfortable. He says he is at peace and ready to go home to heaven and be with mom. He has maintained his positive attitude but is weak and weary. Please pray that he will pass peacefully. He is ready to meet his Lord. Fondly, Jeannine Brant - Del Jones' daughter

DEL JONES JUN. 27/15

This is Jeannine Brant, Del Jones' daughter. He's been wanting  me to email you so that I could fill you in on his health and so that you can get him on the prayer list. Don't know what we would do without the prayers of friends. When he arrived home, his heart was erratic. They ended up having to remove his defibrillator and put a new one in that totally paces his heart. He also had the electrical system ablated since it was so erratic. So the procedure took 6 hours and what was supposed to be a 1 night stay turned into a 9 day stay. Then he went home for a week and was doing ok, but he just can't get rid of the water. His heart is at 15% now so it really suffered when it was so erratic. So after a week at home, they decided he needed to come back into the hospital to try and get more water off. So we are on day 4 of this stay, and he will have to be here awhile longer. We are praying that the water will leave his lungs and belly and that his heart will recover with the new pacemaker. Time will tell. Thanks for your support. And he would love emails from anyone. Would really lift his spirits. Jeannine

A THANK YOU MAR. 18/15

A huge THANK YOU to all the many, many of you in PEM who have supported the efforts to make sleeping mats for the homeless made from plastic bags this season. As of now, 33 mats secure in fabric duffel bags have been delivered to a rescue mission in Phoenix, 2 more are ready to be delivered, and more are in the process. With an average of 600 bags needed per mat, that means about 21,000 bags have been used already. That's recycling to the max. There is a list of over 60 park residents that are known to have smoothed, folded, cut, fastened together or crocheted and there are untold others who are working to made this project a great success including so many who have been supplying the plastic bags. And it's not over yet.  Many have already left for the season but others continue to participate until they leave.  Some others who are  full-time residents have agreed to prepare the bags ready for crocheting in the fall. So please continue to save your shopping bags and help out with the making of these sleeping mats in any way that you can so we can all feel good about helping those who are less fortunate. If you can help this summer, please let me know and I will show you what needs to be done to turn plastic bags into sleeping mats. Once again, THANK YOU to all who have helped in any way!
