PRAYER UPDATE #669

GORDON PARTRIDGE DEC. 17/14

Hi all, Well, finally good news. Gord has his kidney fixed today. They had 2 cancellations so he is very lucky that he got in today. What happened was that the stent into the kidney was bent. Yesterday they had tried to correct the problem going through the right arm and down to the kidney but because of the angle of the artery this couldn't be done. Today they went in through the left arm and they were able to put in a new stent and the blood began flowing through immediately. He is still in CCU (cardiac care unit) tonight where he will be monitored closely but so far so good. I can't thank you all enough for all your caring e-mails. your support means so much to us. I don't know at the moment when he will be discharged but as long as he continues to improve I don't care. Love to all, Cynthia

GORDON PARTRIDGE DEC. 18/14

Wow, when things happen they happen fast. As you all know, after waiting months Tues. morning they did part of Gord's surgery in the afternoon. They couldn't get in to replace the bent stent in his kidney and told us that we would have to wait until Monday Dec. 22nd, then a while later they changed it to this Friday and then on Wed. morning they said there was a cancellation and they would do the procedure Wed. afternoon which they did. I couldn't believe it this afternoon when the surgeon came in said that Gord could go home now so here we are at our daughters and hopefully the highway will co-operate so we can undertake the 5 hour drive to our home tomorrow. We want to thank you all for all your kind thoughts and prayers. They sure have been answered for us and hopefully the kidney function will improve enough for him to get his hip replacement surgery in the not too distant future and then we can get on with life. Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy 2015 to you all. Cynthia.

GORDON HART DEC. 18/14

Gord is doing very well. He is weaning himself off the pain pills so the pain is there still but he still pushes himself to do more everyday. We watch a lot of Netflix war movies and dust bowl movies and then we get to watch Bevs picks for the evening ( which are lighter and more fun and romantic). He was wanting an exercise bicycle one day to build up his muscles, because he is getting weak from laying around. His daughter Denise set him straight.reminding him what the doctor said about resting and healing.. It is very hard for Gord to lay around and do nothing. .I am quite enjoying the change of pace. We will be spending Christmas with Victor, Loren and their family. Gord needs to be quiet so he can rest. Some days Gord doesn't want me to be taking pictures of him. This is the latest from the Harts in Selkirk, Mb. Bev.

PRAYER UPDATE #668

GORDON PARTRIDGE DEC. 17/14

We are in Van. now and Gord had the aneurysm closed yesterday. He had to lay perfectly flat for 6 hours last night and they were going to wake him every hour to see if he still had movement in his legs. They couldn't correct the blockage in the kidney because of the weird angle of the artery so now he has to wait for a vascular surgeon to do it and it probably won't be done until Friday at the earliest. The plan last night was to keep him in hospital until this takes place so I hope they do because our daughter's house has a lot of stairs and it is hard for him to navigate because of the hip. It is much worse after they were moving the leg around during the surgery so I don't know how he will be able to manage before he can get this fixed. Thanks, Cynthia

PRAYER UPDATE #667

GORDON PARTRIDGE DEC. 12/14

We got a phone call from Vancouver General Hospital in Vancouver telling us to have Gord check into the hospital on Monday the 15th. On Tuesday, his surgery will take place. They think that the artery to the kidney is blocked and that is what's causing the poor kidney function. They will go in through the groin and correct this and then they will also close the two holes that were originally left in the graft in the aorta. Of course this is all very risky and Gord will be awake so that when they close the holes he can tell them if he still has feeling in his legs. At this point we don't know just how long he will be in hospital. After he recovers from this he will finally be able to make plans to have his hip replacement and hopefully after a few more months he will be back on the golf course. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Cynthia

BUD KINGSBURY NOV. 27/14

Just found out today that Bud is in rehab after spending a week in the hospital. He was falling frequently and having difficulties with normal activities. No injuries thus far but he will be in rehab until his strength builds up enough to return to his home with Phyllis in an assisted living facility. As you can imagine this has been hard on Phyllis as well. Bud has Parkinson's and they sold their house here in PEM last year to return to Michigan to be closer to family. Their family is asking for prayers for both of them and support through "thinking of you" cards. Their address is: 28413 Abbey Lane, Apt. #263, New Hudson‎ MI‎ 48165. Thanks, sent in by Connie Dennington jacmdenn@hotmail.com

Gordon had his back surgery at 7:30 am (central time) this Monday morning. We just talked to Gord on the phone and he is back in his room with his wife Bev by his side along with his children. The surgeon said he was very pleased with the surgery. Gord is in high spirits and told us: “I am in pain but it’s a happy pain and looking forward to a speedy recovery and getting back to Arizona!” He said “I’m so blessed and thankful for All of my ‘Family’ and ‘Family of Friends’ for all the prayers and wishes!” Thanks, Don & Marti

GORDON HART NOV. 16/14

Gord flew home to Manitoba to go on his annual hunting trip with his Son and Grandson. On Sat., Nov. 15th they were out hunting (over 4 hours from home), and Gord was stationed in a tree-stand a little over 10 ft. high. At approx. 9:30 am he slipped and fell backwards onto the frozen ground (19° below 0), hitting his head and landing on his rifle (breaking it) which discharged and alerted his Grandson, that came running to find him lying on the ground. He immediately fetched his Dad (Gord’s Son), who has paramedics and fire & rescue training. 911 was called and an hour later Gord was hauled out of the bush on a stretcher and taken to the rural hospital. They did a CAT scan but other than a bad concussion and his neck and back being bruised and sore, he should be okay. He is still in the hospital (in a small town of Deloraine, MB) for further observation. He is in a lot of pain and is unable to move on his own yet. We are asking for prayer for his discomfort and that he will soon be released from the hospital or at least to the Winnipeg Hospital that is close to his children. Also for a speedy return to PEM and back to his wife Bev.

DEATH
What a wonderful way to explain it!

A sick man turned to his doctor as he was preparing to leave the examination room and said, Doctor, I am afraid to die! Tell me what lies on the other side. Very quietly, the doctor said,‘ I don’t know.’ ‘You don’t know? You’re a Christian man, and don’t know what’s on the other side? The doctor was holding the handle of the door; on the other side came a sound of scratching and whining, and as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room and leaped on him with an eager show of gladness. Turning to the patient, the doctor said, Did you notice my dog? He had never been in this room before. He didn’t know what was inside. He knew nothing except that his master was here, and when the door opened, he sprang in without fear. I know little of what is on the other side of death, but I do know one thing,

I know my Master is there and that is enough!

Florian and Donna have been several times to doctors and many more appointments to come, trying to get to the bottom of Flo’s difficulty in breathing. He has only one kidney, so the kidney doctor as well as the heart doctors’ has been diagnosing him. The dye used in checking on his heart is very hard on the kidney and that needs to be monitored.  His heart doctor has said that he has congestive heart failure.  He has a lot of fluid on his feet and legs and around his heart. They are working on flushing this out. He also has oxygen with him to help him with his breathing.   He only walks a few steps and then he is out of breath and also he can’t seem to get much sleep (difficulty in sleeping). Please pray for Florian’s relief from all of this and that the doctors find an immediate fix for his heart.

GORDON PARTRIDGE OCT. 2/14

Hi everyone, Well, we just got bad news.  They won't proceed with the second part of Gord's aneurysm surgery because of his poor kidney function.  If they went ahead it could mean that he would be on dialysis.  It has been postponed indefinitely.  Our family doctor just phoned a little while ago.  He is going to send him to an Internist and also to have an ultra sound of the kidneys.  Regarding his hip, our doc. is going to send him to an Antithesis to see if he would even go ahead with the hip surgery under the circumstances.  We also have to be in touch with the hip specialist.  So as you can see our life is on hold once again.  We are so disappointed.  Your good thoughts and prayers would be appreciated to get his kidneys functioning properly so they can go ahead with the second part.  If things don't improve he will just have to stay like he is. GORDON PARTRIDGE SEP. 25/14

Hi everyone, Yes, we finally have a confirmed date for Gord to have the second part of his aneurysm surgery.  It is on October 7th and he will have to be at St. Paul's Hospital at 7:30 a.m.  He will be given a local anesthetic and therefore this part of the surgery will be done while he is awake.  This is a very critical part and we hope and pray that it will all go well.  We really appreciate all your phone calls, e-mails, inquiries and best wishes.  We will leave here on Oct. 6th.  He will be kept in hospital for one night after the procedure so we will more than likely return home on the 8th then he will be able to go ahead with his hip replacement surgery and then maybe by early next year he will be back to normal. SHARON FLEMING AUG. 21/14

Wow,  I don't know how to say this. Went to thoracic surgeon and he has me booked for surgery September 22nd. I do have a 1.2cm tumour in my lung. He feels it is not reachable by needle biopsy so will go in and take a sample. If it is malignant he will then remove lobe.  What are the chances we would both have to go through this. We are so in shock.  He says it seems to present as malignant but not 100%. One can only hope I guess.  Lots of tests now to see if cancer anywhere else....Sorry it isn't better news!!!! RON SCHOENHERR AUG. 13/14

Sorry for delay but a lot of testing, probing, scanning, draining and scratching of heads of occurred since last update.  Important part is Dad is feeling much better...physically and emotionally.  Still in some pain from laying/sitting around, but coming around. Medical update: All testing has come back favorable.  No infection, lung debris, cancer, spleen, liver, kidney or heart issues.  On the negative side his lung has not re-inflated and they don't have a root cause for the deflation.  Thought is the lung is stuck to the cavity wall and will not inflate.  They are considering a surgical procedure to put a scope in between the lung and cavity wall and see what's going on and maybe separate the two. Until then Dad sits in the hospital.  If we know anything we know Dad is not much on sitting!! Mom is holding up well through this but she misses her mate badly...but is encouraged that he is getting better. Can't end without crediting Joe and Candy for holding it all together...taking care of Mom...working with doctors to sort out stuff...and maintaining a positive attitude through it all!! Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes...it's working!!! Bill

RON SCHOENHERR AUG. 17/14

Dad went home yesterday...yeah!!!  Medical status no different than reported in last update.  He is now in the hands of the cardiothoracic surgeon as the pulmonologist said Dad was "beyond his expertise to understand" what's wrong.  Many of us have probably felt the same way about Dad at one time or another!! Ha!!! Surgeon says they will wait three weeks, repeat the MRI and then decide whether to go in and explore. For now Dad is resting comfortably and gaining strength. Same can be said for Mom who is grateful for having her "Honey" back. That's all for now I'll keep you posted if something changes. Thanks for your supportive calls, visits, prayers and good wishes! JERRY WEYENETH AUG. 6, 2014

Thank You Thank You To All our Friends and Family of PEM. Your Prayers are working.  Jerry will be moved out of ICU today to a regular room. This is amazing in the fact that they removed a tumor weighing 5 lbs.  Unbelievable,!!!  The doctors are really great here at Henry Ford Hospital. Jerry will be here possible another 6 days.  But that is easy to handle.  He is sitting up in a chair again this morning eating breakfast and falling asleep. That is OK. He had another EKG this morning just to make sure everything is OK with his heart.  All is well!  Again thank you for the prayers and concerns.  We Love You All, Marylan

JERRY WEYENETH AUG. 8, 2014

Jerry is doing great.  He walked the floors twice so far and its only 3:00. The doctors were both in and very pleased with his progress. He is off everything accept 1 I.V. in his neck. He sits in a chair most of the time. Just doesn't want to lay in bed. Tomorrow he loses the last I.V. WOW! Thanks for all the prayers,  We all know why he is doing so well. THE LORD IS GOOD!   Marylan

MARC & NANCY TILLSON JUL. 25/14

Thank you so much for all of the concern our great friends have shown us.  Marc & I are fine.  The town survived.  The fire went pass us, but it hit Alta Lake really bad.  Kit and John's house is fine.  Nellie & George, Clark & Debbie lost their homes.   Nellie and George are staying in Chelan in a Condo, Clark and Debbi are in their full time home close to Everett.   No one was injured.  That's the  great part.  No one really knows what they are going to do at this time. Thank you so much for the great friends we have at El Mirage.  We appreciate all of the prayers and good thoughts you've been sending our way. We love you all and couldn't do without you. Thank you all and we'll see you all in El Mirage in October. Marc and Nancy

FLORIAN VEZINA JUL.16/14

A month ago on June 6 to June 10, Florian was in the hospital and diagnosed with a heart condition and was sent home with Nitrostat pills to take up to 3 a day. On Thursday July 10th he was having chest pains and that night took 9 of those pills trying to relieve his chest pains. On Fri. (next day) his chest and arm pains were not any better, so at approx. 6pm Donna took him to the Del Web Hospital and they found that he had a heart attack. They did all kinds of testing over Sat. and on Sunday and put in 3 stents (70 – 90% blockage). They kept him in Intensive Care till Wednesday July 16th. They are still monitoring him for his ‘cretin’ which is too high and also has given him 3 blood transfusions, etc for his ‘hemoglobin’. He is now in room #403D and can receive visitors. Donna is there most of the time. You can phone his room at 623-524-8879 and home number for Donna at night is 623-977-2469. Their email is not working. Donna & Florian.

JERRY WEYENETH JUL. 1/14

Hi Everyone, Well we finely got back into the cancer doctor today. Jerry has a large tumor in his right lobe of his liver and a very small tumor in the left lobe.  Since the tumor is so big they can’t give chemo or radiation.  He will have surgery at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit hopefully within the next ten days.  First, he will need another colonoscopy, since this is colon cancer which has moved to the liver. We are grateful that the cancer is contained to the liver.  This is an answer to prayer.  Jerry is feeling good and having no discomfort at all. Another answer to prayer!  Thank You Everyone, for your prayers on his behalf.  He will have, half his liver removed but the doctor tells us you can live very well with half a liver.  I will keep you posted. Thanks All, Marylin

LANCE WEYENETH JUN. 25/14

Hello Everyone,  Yah!!! Lance has completed his radiation.  He finished yesterday.  His is feeling a little tired but good.  Thanks for all the prayers!!!! They sure helped.  He will know the out-come in September when he has another MRI.  I guess the radiation continues to work in the body.  So we will know if the tumor was killed then.  We are looking for a positive result. Thanks again for all the prayers. Jerry has an appointment July 1.  It is hard to get into good doctors.  They are very busy. He will know then  what direction he will  go medically.  He is feeling good. Marylin

GARY FLEMING JUN. 20/14

Gary was put in a screening program by his new doctor are year or so ago. Because he was a smoker they screen his lung and as long as there's nothing there they screen it once a year. He had a small spot there. And now it has increased to 1 cm. Gary had a lung biopsy two weeks ago and the results have come back malignant. We went to see the thoracic surgeon yesterday. Gary will have to have the upper lobe of the left lung removed. Because this tumor is so small this is the best bet for non recurrence. Garry has to have MRI, pet scan and breathing test to rule out any other cancer and if there is none then they will remove upper lobe of his left lung. He is already scheduled for his pet scan on Monday and is meeting with his surgeon on Thursday. I will try to keep you updated. We would love your encouragement and prayers!
